Artist Biography
Moon Ramone is a Melbourne-based visual artist whose work centres on abstraction as a site for emotional inquiry and psychological depth. Through intuitive painting and drawing processes, Ramone creates immersive works that translate inner experience into colour, form, and movement, inviting viewers into contemplative and affective encounters.
Ramone is currently undertaking a Master of Fine Arts (Coursework) from RMIT University and graduated with First Class Honours in Fine Art, achieving a Vice-Chancellor's mention for ranking within the top 2% of research students. Their practice is supported by extensive training in art therapy and counselling, including a Double Advanced Diploma in Art Therapy and Counselling. This interdisciplinary education underpins a sensitivity to wellbeing, embodiment, and the therapeutic potential of creative expression.
Since 2019, Ramone has exhibited widely across Melbourne in solo and group exhibitions. Notable solo exhibitions include Interbeing at Red Gallery, Mind Scapes at Gallery Unbound, and Rewired at Urban Sanctuary in Ivanhoe and Abbotsford. Beyond the gallery, Ramone has worked as a muralist and collaborated with Politix Australia on an exclusive shirt design, extending their practice into public and commercial contexts.
Ramone’s work has appeared in major group exhibitions at RMIT, iSquared Gallery, Gallery Unbound, Red Gallery, and the Victorian Artists Society. Their practice has received recognition through awards and publications, including a Highly Commended Chapman and Bailey Award, finalist selections in the Whitewall Art Prize and Lethbridge Gallery Art Prize, and publication in Where Strength Lies by Honey Bones Gallery x Spaces of Play, Volume 01.
Through an ongoing commitment to intuitive abstraction and reflective process, Moon Ramone continues to investigate the relationship between emotion, materiality, and human experience, creating work that invites connection, presence, and introspection.
